Ana (she/her/ella) is a proud first-generation college graduate and immigrant from Tamaulipas, Mexico who was raised in East San José and Stockton, California. She began her college journey at San Joaquin Delta College before transferring to the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned a B.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies. With over 14 years of experience in student affairs, Ana’s work has centered on supporting undocumented and first-generation students as they navigate higher education, especially when it comes to financial aid, access, and figuring out systems that weren’t built with them in mind. She brings that experience into her work with Chicanx/Latinx students by building programs and spaces that are community-rooted and responsive to what students need to persist and graduate.Outside of work, Ana enjoys roller skating, watching scary movies, and spending time with her dog and loved ones.
