Mission
CMEAAB's mission is to foster meaningful connections between the CME department, alumni, and students. We aim to enhance educational experiences, career opportunities, and industry partnerships. In addition, the board will advance the fields of chemical and materials engineering by leveraging the collective expertise and resources of our community, adapting our focus to meet evolving needs and challenges.

Our vision is to create a thriving, interconnected community where CME alumni, students, and faculty collaborate to drive innovation, foster professional growth, and shape the future of the chemical and materials engineering department. Fall 2025 CME Welcome Back Event
The CME department hosted its biannual networking event to welcome new and
returning students. The event featured a panel of MatE and ChE alumni who shared career
insight and advice with the student attendees.
2026 Alumni Reunion Dinner
The Chemical and Materials Engineering (CME) Department at San José State University is writing to invite you to the 2026 8th Annual Chemical and Materials Engineering Alumni Reunion Dinner.
Date: Thursday, March 19, 2026
Time: 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Place: Engineering Building, Room 285/287
Before the dinner event, the CME labs will be open for you to visit from 5:00 – 5:45 PM. Validated parking will be provided for the event in any of the University parking structures.
All BS and MS alumni from both degree programs are invited, and the event will be hosted by the CME Department, meaning that there will be NO CHARGE for you to come and share the evening with your former classmates and colleagues. The agenda will include plenty of time for meet-ups and networking, as well as special awards, department news, and more. You will receive an agenda by email after you register. Further information and details are on the enclosed flyer. Note that this event is for CME department alumni only; no family or guests can be included.
