The University Admissions page is your best resource for application, scheduling, scholarships and financial aid information. SJSU is impacted for undergraduate applicants and will close at the end of the application period. Late applications will not be accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: Every student is admitted to the following programs as a BA Design Studies Major:

• Graphic Design 
• Industrial Design
• Interior Design Program

Admission to the BFA Programs for Graphic Design and Interior Design

Admission to the BFA Programs for Graphic Design and Interior Design is by portfolio review only—after the completion of two to three semesters of coursework at SJSU. All students in Graphic Design and Interior Design are first admitted as a BA Design Studies Major.

Admission to the BS Industrial Design Program

Admission to the BS Industrial Design Program is also by portfolio review only—after the completion of two to three semesters of coursework at SJSU. All students in Industrial Design are first admitted as a BA Design Studies Major.

Admission to the BFA in Animation/Illustration

Admission to the BFA in Animation/Illustration is determined at the time students apply for admission to the university. There is no internal transfer into the BFA in Animation and Illustration. All students in Animation/Illustration are first admitted as a BFA Animation/Illustration Major.
