Deadlines
Use these deadlines to plan when proposals must be approved to take effect in the next catalog year.
Please note that the lead time for new or revised courses and programs to appear in the Schedule of Classes or the University's Online Academic Catalog is often longer than anticipated.
Deadlines by approval stage:
- Department approvals happen before college approvals. View Department Chair/ School Director Approval Deadlines.
- After department approval, proposals route through college and university review. View College Approval Deadlines.
- After college and university approvals, the proposals are routed to Undergraduate Education/College of Graduate Studies approvals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do we have deadlines?
Deadlines support timely publication of the Academic Catalog, MyRoadmaps and other advising tools, and the Schedule of Classes so students can plan before registration.
Why can programs only be revised once a year when we have a digital catalog and schedule?
The Academic Catalog is officially published once a year (usually April). A PDF version must also be submitted for compliance and articulation purposes, and students have catalog rights tied to a specific catalog year (Title 5).
